What a year this last year has been.  Has it been a roller coaster for you? Smooth sailing? Milestone events?

I want to remember the top times of my 12 months in 2017. My writerly pals and I are sharing our most memorable moments in the Looking Back at 2017 Blog Hop. Please have a read of our most personal reveals. Then visit the other #Gr8Blogs linked at the end of this post for more look-backs. We hope you’re inspired to gather round with your family for a look-back, too.

We had a year filled with many wonderful memories.
In May, on Mother's Day in fact, we gained a daughter!
Our son and his wife put on the most beautiful and fun event for their special day.
Being the big baseball fans that they are, they were married at Satchel Paige Baseball Stadium in our town. They planned everything down to the "T" with a concession stand set up for guests who attended, to saying their vows on the pitching mound.
It will be a wedding that will be remembered for all that attended.
April 16th, we had the opportunity to see Mariah Carey and Lionel Richie tour together for the first time ever on the "All The Hits Tour."  They were great. Lionel Richie sung, "Three Times a Lady," along with "Say You, Say me," "We Are The World," and many more rememorable songs.

In June, we were lucky to see Joe Walsh from the Eagles warm up the band for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. It was their 40th birthday tour. He sung all the famous songs such as, “Free Fallin," “You Don’t Know How It Feels” and so many more.  When we heard the news of Tom Petty passing away in October 2017, our hearts were broken. We will be forever thankful that we were able to see him one last time.
In August, our family had the time of their lives visiting North Carolina.
Our daughter-in-law found a perfect beach house for us to stay  just a half a block away form the ocean.
We visited the ocean everyday, walked to near by restaurants and shops, and toured many sites.

The one site that was absolutely fascinating was seeing the USS North Carolina Battleship. On a self guided tour, we explored the Observation Deck, nine levels of living space, mess decks, gun turrets, powder storage, sick bay, and so much more.

My husband and I had the opportunity to meet up with our author friend, Cat Michaels! She and her husband were kind enough to make the drive to a lovely restaurant in Burgaw, N.C. called The Other Place. We had a wonderful time meeting and catching up with each other in person.

In October
,
my husband and I celebrated our 39th wedding anniversary and 45 years being together, along with family members and lifetime friends. An added celebration was for my birthday which I had in November. My husband surprised me with these two events and threw a giant party. We had a blast!
In November, I released my seventh children's story called "Sherman the Shopping Cart: A Search and Find." Here are the "behind the scenes" for this book. You will see why it took me over a year to illustrate. It was a lot of work but so much fun. My books can be found on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Rainy Day Books. What a wonderful, blessed year you had! Congrats on your new daughter-in-law. And big congrats on your new book - which I was privileged to preview. Such a great book for kids! Highly recommend it! Funny, we must have gotten married the same year - we celebrated our 39th anniversary as well this past year. Hoping 2018 brings you many more blessings!

Hi Rosie, wow, you have had an action packed year! Congrats on gaining a daughter and a new book! Sherman is a fantastic read aloud learning tool for the young ones. It was a very clever idea for a book that I recommend to everyone. Best wishes for 2018 being as wonderful as the last, if not, even better!

What a wonderful, blessed year you had! Congrats on your new daughter-in-law. I loved the pictures you shared, and the favors they had were perfect! As a wedding photographer I have been to more than my fare share of weddings. I must say, I’ve never been to a baseball wedding. To have been that wedding would be one for the ages, love the uniqueness of it. And big congrats on Sherman! Such a great book for kids! Highly recommend it! Congrats on celebrating 39 years of wedded bliss. David and I are only 30 years behind! Hope 2018 brings you many more blessings!

Carmela, thank you for your note today!
Yes, we feel very blessed.
I have to say I have never seen a wedding quite like theirs in my years. We couldn't of asked for a more perfect day.
Thank you for your kind words on Sherman's book. He will have more tidbits to share in the coming months.
You and David are such a sweet couple and fun parents to your little one. I wish many blessings to you all in the coming years.
Happy 2018! Looking forward to what this year will bring.
Thanks again,
Rosie
